Protech is a Biotechnology company which was incorporated in 1999 to develop innovative science in flavour and related food industries. The R&D is original research which has resulted in the establishment of several international patents and patent applications and numerous other technologies protected under 'Trade Secret' protocols.

Since then, investigations into the potential of related technologies have directed the Business Plans in several directions outside flavours, although flavour chemistry is still a core value within Protech.

Protech's corporate objectives are to fully commercialise all the technologies within its portfolio, and is currently working with clients in many areas both within and outside the flavour arena.

These additional areas include enzyme extraction, development of specialty enzyme based food ingredients, creation of nano-technology delivery systems for various bioactive molecules within food and pharmacology applications, starch based biodegradable delivery systems, yeast derived bioreactors and use of advanced technology in effluent processing.

All Protech core technology is able to be commercialised and further developed without Genetic Modification. Labeling of food products utilising the Protech technology all have 'clean label' capabilities.

The business has 10 persons operating full and part time and is indebted to both the Federal Government and NSW State Government for numerous grants, other financial support, and professional advice regarding structuring, business management and product marketing.
