Protech currently has eight internationally filed patents:

Yeast Treatement

This application covers novel approaches for encapsulating molecules using nano particles and delivering them into viable yeast cells to produce reaction byproducts. The molecules that can be transferred in this way include, but are not limited to, compounds for flavouring foods with yeast used as a protective model vehicle for bioactive ingredients during food processing or consumption.

Transfer of Molecules
This application covers novel approaches for enabling carriage of molecules into target cells. This includes the technology to adapt the composition of the carrier mechanism to suit the bio-technology of the target cells, and also the ability to enable the carrier mechanism bio-technology to suit the composition of the molecules or 'payload' to facilitate cellular delivery.

Enzyme Extraction
This application covers novel ways of extracting enzymes from naturally occurring plants and grains, and then concentrating them in such a way that they can be used in food manufacture, while preserving everything that is necessary to enable the food labels to include the 'natural' claim.
A number of patents are specific for the extraction and application of individual enzymes that are currently used commercially in food manufacture. The Protech advantage is price and non GM.

Biomedical devices
This application incorporates the design of starch based block copolymers and the incorporation of bioactive ingredients into nano-sized liposomes for sustained and targeted cellular delivery.
