Applications for Protech Technology
Food Flavour Enhancers

Natural flavour enhancerswith the potential to revolutionise the flavour industry have beendeveloped by Protech Research Pty Ltd. Flavours andflavour enhancers are added to foods to improve and enrich their taste, aroma and texture and have been used in foods for centuries. The vast majority of processed food available today utilise these products.
The flavour enhancers produced by the Protech technology are derived from viable yeast and can be used in a similar way to existing products but are produced for a fraction of the current manufacturing costs. They are not genetically modified and can be added to a range of food products such as soups, sauces, gravies, frozen and canned prepared meals, snack foods, meat and fish-based products as well as fermented beverages including beers and wines.

Enzyme Extraction

Protech has developed the know how to cost effectively extract various enzyme from target grains and legumes. This technology is patent pending and currently being scaled up with one of Protech's commercial partners to produce both new commercial enzymes and to also produce existing enzymes without genetic or microbial modifications.

The extraction process uses a sophisticated biochemical control mechanism but conventional food equipment, with enzymes currently being produced in small, but commercial quantities.

Nano Encapsulation

Protech has developed processes and knowledge to produce large commercial quantities of nano encapsulation products that are capable of delivering a payload in human or animal digestive systems. The principle is to protect a customers product through tough food manufacturing environments including extrusion, and in a variety of aqueous and dry systems. This technology has various applications in the cosmetic and other industries including pharmacology
